You couldn’t have predicted all that manufacturers have gone through these past twelve months. As if the pandemic wasn’t enough to cause us pain, then we were slammed with supply chain and staffing issues that are still problematic today. As we make our way through this period of uncertainty, some things remain as true today as they were one hundred years ago. We believe that today’s operators must be well versed in the basic fundamentals of manufacturing and that nothing replaces hands-on experience—on the foundry factory floor. Simply, everything cannot be learned virtually. Understanding the basics of material handling, testing, molding, melting, finishing, inspection and quality will serve any operator well before moving to more advanced processes. Our line-up features important fundamentals on important processes such as sand storage, aluminum degassing, as well as RFID basics. We delve into teapot ladles, resins, furnace and molding basics and hope these articles serve as references to refer back to, for years to come.
